Who actually runs this domain?

Registrar, DNS host, mail provider, web host and network owner in one view, plus the two renewals that take businesses offline: the domain itself and the certificate. Registry data comes from RDAP; nothing is scraped.

Results are indicative and based on public DNS and HTTP responses at the moment you run the check. They are not a security audit or a compliance finding. See the terms.

Reading the result

Four providers, two renewals, one page.

Registration

Registry data (RDAP) shows the registrar, when the domain was registered, registry locks such as client transfer prohibited, and whether DNSSEC is enabled. For most top-level domains it also shows the expiry date. auDA does not publish expiry dates for .au names, so for those the registrar is the place to confirm the renewal; the tool says so rather than guessing.

DNS

The name servers, and which company runs them. This is the most important line on the page: whoever controls the DNS controls the website, the email and every verification record. When a business cannot say who that is, it is usually a former web designer.

Email and website

The mail provider is read from the MX records, with a quick SPF and DMARC presence check (the email health check does the full analysis). The web host is identified from the response headers of the home page and the network owner of its IP address, so a site behind Cloudflare shows both the proxy and, where visible, what sits behind it.

Renewals

Domain expiry and certificate expiry are shown as a countdown. Under 30 days is flagged red. Auto-renew fails more often than people expect, usually because the card on file expired or the notification went to someone who has left.

Common questions

The registrar shown is not who we pay.
Many providers are resellers of a larger registrar. The registry records the registrar of record; your invoice may come from the reseller. Both can renew the domain.
Why does the web host show Cloudflare when we host with someone else?
Cloudflare is a proxy in front of the real server, so its address is what the internet sees. That is by design. The Server header and network owner may still reveal the origin platform.
Should we enable DNSSEC?
It stops forged DNS answers, which matters most for domains with high-value sign-ins. It also adds an operational risk: a mistake during a DNS provider move can take the domain offline for hours. Enable it when you have a DNS host that manages the signing for you.
